Executive Chef & Owner
Classically trained in England, Executive Chef / Owner Alan Barnes brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to his business. After tenures with Four Seasons Hotels in Toronto & Calgary, Delta Hotels, Whistler, & Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver, Alan moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1999 taking the Head Chef position at Lord Jim’s Resort Hotel.
In 2004 Chef Alan achieved his goal and established his own Ricolan Chef Services Business. Alan blended “Rico”, his Labrador, who passed away in 2006, with his own name to honour the bond – that can never be broken – between both of them.
In the past 12 years the business has grown from a small “ In Home “ gourmet dining venture into a multitude of facets including weddings, corporate events, celebrations of life, seasonal parties and annual functions.
Surrounded by his team, Alan’s goal is to provide his clients with a dining experience “Beyond Expectations”, combined with professional, friendly and unobtrusive service.
